The mission of the Rainbow Lake Association is to engage in activities that encourages stewardship and conservation of the Rainbow Lake watershed.
Primary activities include:
- Providing for a steward at the Buck Pond boat launch. The cost for this activity is mostly covered by grants from the LCBP and the NYS DEC.
- Engaging Adirondack Water Institute to perform annual water quality analyses, which includes testing for chlorophyll, ph, clarity, temperature and oxygen levels.
- Engaging a professional to survey the water for potential infestations of aquatic invasives. Early detection is vital to minimize the impact of such infestation.
The costs for these activities have been funded by annual membership dues from lakeshore owners as well as non-lakeshore owners with lake access rights.
